In Which I Briefly Raise My Voice
Hi,
I'm Thomas Hughes, and I'm the founder of The Cranwood Company.
We started Cranwood because we found traditional consulting firms to be a little silly, for two reasons.
- Reason 1: The incentives are odd. Firms usually charge by the hour, which means the longer they take to solve your problem, the more money they make. This is particularly troublesome as our problem-solving tools rapidly improve, because it means firms have a financial incentive to resist adopting them.
- Reason 2: It is unclear what they do. If you go to their website, if you get on the phone with them, it is unclear if they can solve your problem at all, and you need to set up several meetings before you get anywhere close to knowing how much it will cost.
But this is alright, lots of things in the world are silly, and life goes on.
No!
This is not alright!
The fundamental concept of a consulting firm is too good to let go to waste: a company that you call with your problems and they solve them. We need that!
If you have car troubles, you call the mechanic.
If your tooth hurts, you call the dentist.
If you've got a hot date, you call the spray tan salon.
But for everything else, for every sufficiently complex problem with multiple moving parts, you must either face that alone, or try your luck with a traditional consulting firm, and they don't make any sense!
But Cranwood does.
When you call The Cranwood Company, we
- listen to your problem,
then tell you
- how long it will take to solve it, and
- how much that solution will cost.
Behind the scenes, we use a whole bunch of fancy technology to deliver exactly what we promised at an extraordinary pace.
That's it. We are a team of technologists who love helping people, and believe strongly that this approach is the best way to do it.
So whether you've worked with countless consultants and are tired of the run around, or you've never considered hiring one because you couldn't tell what exactly they do,
whether you've got a pressing issue you need solved overnight, or just want to chat about ways we might work together in the future:
Give us a call.
We're here to help.
Sincerely,
Thomas Hughes
CEO, The Cranwood Company
